    History of coconut fiber 


    Ropes and cordage have been produced using coconut fiber since old circumstances. Indian guides who cruised the oceans to Malaya, Java, China, and the Gulf of Arabia hundreds of years prior utilized coir for their ship ropes. Bedouin scholars of the eleventh century AD alluded to the broad utilization of coir for dispatch ropes and rigging.[3] 


    A coir industry in the UK was recorded before the second 50% of the nineteenth century. Amid 1840, Captain Widely, in co-operation with Captain Logan and Mr. Thomas Treloar,[4] established the known cover firms of Treloar and Sons in Ludgate Hill, England, for the fabricate of coir into different textures reasonable for floor coverings.[3]
