    Production Of Mohair fiber

Shearing is done twice per year, in the spring and in the fall. One goat will deliver 11 to 17 pounds (5– 8 kg) of mohair a year. Shearing is done on a neatly cleared floor and additional care is taken to keep the hair spotless and free of flotsam and jetsam. The hair is then prepared to evacuate characteristic oil, soil and vegetable issue. Mohair develops in uniform locks. Angora is a solitary coat breed, and not at all like pygora or cashmere, there is no compelling reason to dehair a mohair wool to isolate the coarse hair from the down hair.

South Africa is the world's biggest mohair maker, creating around half of the aggregate world production.[5]
